Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (Ages 16+)

NPs at IPC are advanced practice registered nurses who hold specialized clinical training in psychiatric and mental health care. They are fully licensed and regulated by their respective provincial nursing colleges.

Following a formal diagnostic assessment, mental health nurse practitioners manage a variety of clinical presentations, including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety disorders, major depressive disorder, and mood disorders.

Yes. If clinically indicated and/or recommended by the diagnostic clinician, NPs can prescribe medications specifically for the management of mental health conditions.

IPC utilizes a multidisciplinary approach for psychiatric assessments. Mental health nurse practitioners collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, family physicians, and other members of healthcare teams to ensure a comprehensive assessment and treatment plans.

The fee for each session with a mental health nurse practitioner is $115.00.

Coverage for mental health nurse practitioner services varies by insurance provider and specific policy. Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance carrier directly to verify eligibility for reimbursement.

Once a recent diagnostic assessment has been completed and reviewed, follow-up appointments can be coordinated through the IPC administrative team. Our staff will assist in scheduling sessions to ensure continuity of care.

Our mental health nurse practitioners do not operate a general or primary care practice. They provide specialized continuity of care exclusively for patients who have recently completed a comprehensive diagnostic assessment through IPC, our partner Edcommodate, or other recognized diagnostic facilities within the provinces where they are licensed.
